How a catch goes

Cast, wait, strike, and land it.

A catch takes well under a minute. Here's one, straight from the game: the float, the nibbles, the strike, and a perfect catch.

The Captain, an old sea captain in a yellow raincoat

A little dip is just a nibble. When it goes right under, reel in!

  1. Pulling back to cast from a wooden dock, the reach arc drawn across the water

    Cast

Press by the float and pull back like a slingshot. Farther casts reach deeper water. Bubbles show where fish are feeding.

  2. The float pulled right under in a splash, a fish beside it, with Reel in showing

    Read the float

A small dip is only a nibble, and rare fish feint more than once. Strike when the float goes right under. Your phone buzzes on every dip.

  3. A fish fighting on the line, held inside the green catch bar

    Fight

Hold to lift the green bar and keep the fish inside it. Pull too hard on a heavy fish and the line frays, then snaps.

  4. A fish flung out of the water at dawn, Perfect catch written over it

    Land it

Keep it in the green the whole way and it’s a perfect catch. Then keep it for the villagers’ orders, or let it go.

Hold to reel. Keep the fish in the green.

Hold · tap · or Space

Land a Bluegill before it gets away.

This is the fight from the game, cut down for the web. Hold anywhere on the water to lift the bar and let go to drop it. Keep the fish inside the green until the ring is full. If it never slips out, you get a perfect catch.

The island

A storm came through. Your catch can fix it up.

A big storm wrecked the island's fishing villages. The villagers ask for fish, and pay in coins. Spend them fixing up their village, job by job: clear the jetty, mend the roofs, light the lanterns. Mend the way on, and the next water opens.

  1. A storm-wrecked jetty overgrown with branches, its villager asking for help with the Fix button below

    Ask

Tap a job to hear what it needs from the villager who asked.

  2. Hammers at work in a cloud of dust over the jetty

    Fix

Pay in the coins your catches earned, and the hammers get to work.

  3. The jetty under a blanket of twinkling gold stars as it is made new

    Good as new

Under a blanket of stars, it comes back. Some jobs bring something new to the fishing.

A village at every water.

  • A wooden dock on a lily pond

A lily pond with an old wooden dock. Every angler starts here.

    Depth3 m
  • Clear water running over mossy stones

Quick, clear water and mossy stones, fished from the shore.

    Depth5 m
  • A deep, still lake with a lantern jetty

Deep and still, and best at night. A boat rows you out to the deep water.

    Depth14 m
  • And past the fog? Mend the way on and find out.

The water keeps your clock.

Dawn
Midday
Dusk
Night

Dawn, midday, dusk and night follow the real time where you are, and some fish only bite after dark.

Every fish has its weather.

Clear
Overcast
Rain
Fog
Windy

Rain brings some fish out, fog others. Everyone gets the same weather on the same day, and the calendar in your shack shows the whole week, so you can plan a trip for the fish you're after.

A whole fishing trip in your pocket.

  • The island map, with a few places marked and the rest hidden under fog

Pick where to fish on the island map. What’s past the fog opens as you mend the way.

  • An order delivered at the top of the screen, coins flying from it

Bring the villagers the fish they ask for, and they pay in coins.

  • Rain on a creek, the float pulled under

    Rain brings some fish out.

  • Fog drifting over the water, a fish taking the float

Others bite best in the morning fog.

  • A fish flung clear of the water beside a rowing boat at dusk

Row out over deep water at dusk.

  • A fish on the line at night, held in the green catch bar

And some only bite after dark.

  • A heavy fish straining the line, which glows red

Too heavy for your line? Better tackle holds bigger fish.

Fair by design

Made for short, calm sessions.

A few promises the game keeps, pinned where you can read them.

Bait refills on its own

Bait refills one every 2 minutes, up to 25, even while the game is closed.

Nothing spoils

Fish wait in your cooler for as long as you like. Nothing you earned is ever taken back.

No deadlines

The villagers wait patiently for their fish, and every job waits until you’re ready. Play at your own pace.

No forced ads

Watch a short video for a few gems only if you want to. Nothing pops up in the middle of a cast.

Money buys convenience

Gems buy extra bait, cooler space and fancy floats. They never buy the fun.

One nudge a day, at most

You only get a notification when something real happens, like your bait refilling or rain rolling in.
